The Pan-African Youth Leadership Through Literacy System is our comprehensive approach to fulfilling the vision and mission of Aquarius School for Kids. We build strong black leadership through strong African-centered literacy. We offer our parents and classroom teachers coaching and training in language arts instruction for young black children who are beginning to learn how to read. In addition to instructional coaching and training, we provide a comprehensive, holistic, African-centered curriculum that effectively teaches the core areas of reading, writing, math, and the sciences for kindergarten-aged beginning readers. Each cycle in the Shule Ya Africa Kindergarten Curriculum comes with over 50 Read Aloud stories written and illustrated by a majority of black authors and illustrators. Your books and resources are housed in a beautiful kit perfect for organization and storage.
Shule ya Africa Kindergarten Curriculum is a fully scripted African-centered year long kindergarten curriculum. It is a comprehensive English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science course of study for kindergarten children that utilizes national common core standards as a foundation from which to begin instruction. It is designed to be used by public and private school instructors as well as homeschool parents. Divided into four cycles: Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer, it is offered as a stand alone product or as a component of the Pan-African Youth Leadership through Literacy System: PAYS program.
Shule ya Africa provides thematic instructional manuals, read aloud and big books, student workbooks, shared stories, and other classroom materials. The majority of books used in the curriculum are written by black authors and/or contain black people as the major characters in the readings. The curriculum gives black children a strong sense of identity and establishes Africa and the diaspora as the center of their world view.

Absolutely! Learning the ins and outs of curriculum is not always easy. So we've designed the class, Get Acquainted With the Shule ya Africa Curriculum, to help you. We will show you how our curriculum is designed to serve the educational needs of black children as well as your instructional needs. This class is conducted online via Zoom.

Of course you can! In our online course, Can I Teach My Kindergartener How to Read? Demystifying Reading Instruction for Today's Liberated Parents, we teach parents the basic steps that they can follow in order to successfully teach their own child how to read. This class is conducted live, online via Zoom.
Our course guides you through the 5 components of reading. It is offered as a stand alone product or as a component of the Pan-African Youth Leadership Through Literacy System PAYS program.
Virtual seating for this online course is offered several times during the year. Although designed for homeschool parents, school instructors may register as well. Of course not! We want to be with you every step of the way, from breaking down lesson objectives to listening to your ideas on how you want to present your lessons. Yes. We created Office Hours just for you.
Office Hours is your time to talk with your instructional coach. Here you will ask your puzzling questions, collaborate on the best way to present to your students or just share your successes and work on your challenges. You will meet in small groups with your instructional coach twice monthly online via Zoom for the academic year (approximately 9 months).
